Barkot - Town in Uttarkashi District

Barkot is a town in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. It is popular for its natural beauty and wildlife. It is the nearest town to Yamunotri Dham. It is the second halt after Haridwar in Chardham Yatra. Devotees take rest and stay overnight in Barkot and the next day go for Yamunotri Dham Darshan. After visiting Yamunotri temple, devotees return to Barkot for a night stay in the hotels of Barkot. Barkot is also known for its beautiful hill views and natural surroundings.

Barkot is 180 km from Haridwar city and 385 km from Delhi. You can come to Barkot by Bus from Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh. The nearest airport is located in Dehradun and the Railway Station at Rishikesh. If you are going to Barkot from Rishikesh Tehri Road and via Mussoorie Road, then the nearest railway station will be in Dehradun.
