How to reach Kedarnath Temple

To reach Kedarnath, first you have to come to Haridwar and this journey starts from Haridwar itself. The nearest airport is in Dehradun, upon reaching here you can start your journey. Distance from Haridwar to Sonprayag is 230 km via NH 7. After that one has to go about 7 km to Gaurikund and this is the point from where the trek to Kedarnath temple starts. One has to travel about 20 km on foot from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. Helicopter service is also available for Kedarnath from Guptkashi, Sersi, and Phata helipads.
